In this post I will go over my progress in the Greek Superleague, Europa league and the Greek Cup.
We came in to this month with great form as we are eighteen games unbeaten in all competitions and in the league we are on a winning streak of nine in the league. I kind of expect this month to not go as well just due to the sheer amount of games we are playing.
GS Ergotelis
This result has really disappointed me as we just didn’t play well at all and conceded from a corner which is very poor considering the size of my centre backs. Hopefully this is just a bad game and we can quickly regain our winning touch.
FCP
I was expecting this to be an extremely tough game and for us to lose but we somehow managed to get a draw out of it. Ninis got a red card early on which meant we had to play for roughly seventy minutes with only ten men. We somehow took the lead shortly after as Cleyton crossed in for Sanogo. We managed to hold onto this for a long time but in the 79th minute they deservedly pulled a goal back to make it one all.
APO Levadeiakos
Well we made some changes to my starting line up in this game to rest them for the important tie against FCP. The changes performed very well and we managed to win extremely comfortably 3-1 which is very pleasing. We enjoyed near total dominance over the opposition.
FCP
We went in to this game knowing that we pretty much had to win to go through after FCP scored an away goal. It looked like luck was on our side with their centre back getting a red card within the first few minutes. We managed to take the lead within the first ten minutes which meant we were at this point going through. We managed to hold on to this lead with good defending as FCP had attack after attack and then we broke late on in the game only for Cleyton to be brought down in the box resulting in us getting a penalty. Cleyton stepped up and scored it giving us a two goal lead. This goal turned out to be crucial as they ended up scoring straight after but we held on and won 3-2 on aggregate. I am very proud of the team and their performance.
GSS Panionios
A routine victory against a team in fourth place and we even did it for the most part wit only ten men on the pitch as we had a red card in the 16th minute which is a bit annoying but he will learn from his mistakes hopefully as he will sit out a few games. Zeca, Cleyton and Vellios were the scorers.
AS Aris Salonika
The Greek Cup semi final today and I am looking to win this competition as it is what the board expects and probably the fans expect it as well. We played fairly well having most of the possession but it took us till the 88th minute to guarantee and away victory with Vellios getting a goal.
APS Atromitos Athens 1923
I really expected us to batter Atromitos with our current good form but we maybe were a bit over confident and with Olympiakos still chasing us this is not the time to lose games against weak opposition. They scored early on and we played okay to be fair creating some chance but just not #taking them. The players have been playing an awful lot of football recently so I could put this down as fatigue but it is still a bad result.
AS Aris Salonika
Well I am happy to say that we are through to the final of the Greek Cup after another 2-1 victory. We went one goal up and then after that we never really looked that dangerous and they were definitely going for it trying to get back into the game and they do in the 88th minute but this was a bit to late and just to be sure we countered and scored to make it 4-2 on aggregate. Unfortunately Yaya broke some of his ribs in this game and will miss the remainder of the season most likely which has put a dent in my Europa League quest.
GS Doxa Dramas
A great result away at the relegated Doxa Dramas with us winning 4-1 with three of the goals coming from the inform Vellios. We probably didn’t deserve to win by so much but with only 20 minute to go I decided to change to contain and somehow we managed to score another two goals as we hit them on the break. Lets hope Vellios is just as good in the upcoming month with the Greek Cup Final and the Europa league Quarters.
Greek Superleague
Well I am very happy to announce that with that result against Doxa Dramas we actually confirmed our title win in the Superleague which is extremely pleasing after having a bit of a poor start to my tenure here at Panathinaikos. I do feel sorry for Olympiakos because they were leading for an extremely long time but it’s where you finish after thirty games that really counts i suppose. If you look at the second screenshot it really does reinforce their early dominance.
Just some of the reaction to the Greek Superleague victory.
Europa League
Well the amazing result against FCP means that we play a strong Fulham team in the quarter finals. I really hope we can get past Fulham and hopefully get to the final as I would love to do the triple this year.
New Youth Players
This month we had a new intake of youth players so I though I would introduce you to some of the best we have produced.
The first is a right winger who doesn’t really look that promising at the minute but hopefully with the right tutoring from some of the older players he can flourish.
The second is an attacking midfielder who will eventually replace the role of Ninis who has unfortunately decided to leave the club at the end of the season. I am expecting big things from Kostas in the future.
The third and probably the best it Markos Zoukas who is looking extremely promising and may get a few first team matches next year. he has already really impressed whilst playing in the U20’s with five goals in two starts.
One more player I would like to show you is a player that starts at Panathinaikos but is also a great prospect. I have been watching his development closely and he has come on leaps and bounds since the start of the season and he will hopefully be playing regularly very soon for the first team.

Good League title and you can win the Europa League
